How I'm shipping my first product and trying to market it as a software engineer who has absolutely no idea about marketing.

Where it came from

I'm one of those people who absolutely loves their setup and always tries to automate and offload as many things as possible in their workflow. Of course, to achieve this I write a lot of scripts that run periodically and a lot of times those scripts aren't perfect and they silently fail and when I want their output the most I realise they failed a couple of weeks ago and I have absolutely no data whatsoever. That's why I decided that I want to know when something fails, so that I can at least figure out the problem and contain the loss.

How it got built

Built it over the course of two weeks, focused on making the UI minimal yet functional. I didn't want it to become the tool they had to figure out, it should just inform you about the status of other tools and help you make them robust and make sure you know things have been failing well before an important event.

How it found users

Currently I'm marketing on X and Mastodon, it's not a success story yet. It's a WIP. Fairly early into the release. Released on Product Hunt last week.

How it makes money

It offers a 14 day trial and then you can buy the license with a one-time payment of $19.
